Supercavitating SWATH

In 2002 Dr. Mantouvalos completed a preliminary research study into the suitability of application of supercavitation technology on the design of Small Water Plane Area Twin Hull (SWATH). This research showed that for an equivalent SWATH of 60m long the SC_SWATH had a staggering 70% reduction in the frictional resistance. Ten years later MEKY offers the ultimate in compact fast ferry for rough weather applications featuring worldwide unique supercavitating technology developed in-house.

Due to the nature of the project and application no more details are given for the vessel or the technology used. The 2002 research is in the library of the University of Newcastle upon Tyne.
